Form GC-020: Notice of Hearing-Guardianship or Conservatorship

Form GC-020 tells relatives and interested persons when and where the court will hear the petition. California requires notice to the conservatee’s spouse and close relatives at least 15 days before the hearing.

Common Mistakes

Assuming mailed notice covers the proposed conservatee too – it does not. The conservatee must be personally served with the citation (GC-320); GC-020 covers relatives by mail, documented on attachment GC-020(MA).
